When Gayle Taylor, mother of two young daughters, begins experiencing incapacitating symptoms, she doesn’t expect to spend the next decade fighting for her life. It starts with occasional minor weakness. Then suddenly one day comes extreme fatigue and severe respiratory problems, pain throughout her body, mental fog, memory failure, and physical debilitation that make even the simplest of tasks feel monumental. After more than three years of doctors being unable to identify her problem, she finally receives a diagnosis. Lupus. A disease with no cure.
As her health deteriorates, Gayle’s life becomes a miserable journey of survival as a prisoner to her own body. In her darkest of valleys, as she is planning her own funeral, the Lord speaks to her through Deuteronomy 30:19 and tells her to choose life. That moment is her turning point!
