About Gayle
After fighting a ten-year battle with lupus, I am eternally grateful that I can now say the Lord is my Healer!
God has given me a deep compassion for those facing debilitating or terminal illness because I understand the pain, weakness, and moments of hopelessness that can come with that journey. Through my story, I want to encourage and strengthen your faith to believe God for healing and restoration. Now that I no longer live in that place of suffering and physical weakness, I feel called to reach out to others with the hope I found in Him. My prayer is that, as you read about my faith journey and the lessons the Lord taught me along the way, you will be encouraged in this season of your life and inspired to hold firmly to a steadfast, persevering faith in God’s power to heal.
Even if you are not facing a debilitating illness, I believe the faith-building lessons God taught me and that I share in my book will encourage you in your own walk of faith. Life can bring trials, and whatever you may be facing or trusting God for, He is still the source of healing, restoration, and wholeness for every situation, relationship, or shattered dream.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
- 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
A Ministry of Prayer
Long before my battle with lupus, the Lord placed intercessory prayer on my heart as a calling, and He has faithfully used me in that ministry for many years.
Even when my life changed drastically in 2013, when I became a caregiver to three family members over the course of eight years and eventually had to retire from my job and step away from teaching and other church ministries, the Lord never released me from that calling. During what I think of as my "caregiving season," I was living a rather secluded life, and yet, the prayer ministry continued. Different ones would text, call, or email asking me to pray for their needs, and I realized that even in that quiet, behind-the-scenes place, the Lord still had me right where He wanted me. I am so grateful that prayer is my lifeline to our Heavenly Father.

An Encourager at Heart
One thing I have become aware of is that God uses me in the gift of exhortation and encouragement (Romans 12:8)
It is simply part of who God made me to be. Whether through spoken words or written ones, I always want to lift someone up, to speak life into the people around me, especially those facing difficult times. Over the years, I have had people say to me, "You are an encourager", or "I am so encouraged since you…". If something I say or write can help someone press on through a hard season, then God is being glorified, and that is everything to me.
My Greatest Treasure
Family means everything to me. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a "second mother" to a beloved niece. Our family life has been enriched as our children and grandchildren married and we welcomed others into our family. A great portion of my time and heart is poured into the people God has placed in my home and in my life. In fact, I sometimes smile and tell people that I feel like I am back in the season of raising young children, because I keep three of my great-grandchildren part-time while their parents work! Life is full, it is joyful, and it is the kind of life I am grateful for.
